Pastor Scott Ickert

pastor scottPastor Ickert has been the Senior Pastor of Resurrection since 1995. He previously served parishes in Richmond and Leesburg. Early in his career, he was a full time graduate student at The Catholic University of America, earning a Ph.D. in Church History in 1985. In 1990 he was called by the Lutheran World Federation to a research/teaching post at Mansfield College in Oxford, (and to part time teaching at Ripon College Cuddesdon), leaving that position to accept the call to Resurrection five years later.

He has been active in ecumenical and inter-religious work for most of his ministry, having served a term on the USA Lutheran-Roman Catholic Dialog (Round #10), was appointed by the ELCA Church Council to serve as observer/participant for two consecutive rounds of the USA Catholic-Reformed Dialog, was appointed to serve a term on the Theological Commission of the Reformed Church in America, is a founding member of the local Lutheran Episcopal Coordinating Committee, a member of a local Lutheran-Catholic Dialog, and is Lutheran convener of a local Lutheran-Jewish Dialog.

Pastor Ickert also serves on the Board of Directors of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, was a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Lutheran Home, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Washington Theological Consortium.

Pastor Anteneh Gebreselassie

Pastor Anteneh GebreselassiePastor Anteneh is a native of Ethiopia. He earned his undergraduate degree in Theology from the Mekane Yesus Theological Seminary in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and his Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.

Pastor Anteneh sensed his call to ministry in his teenage years. He served as a young Evangelist and Commissioned minster preaching and teaching the gospel in his home country.

Pastor Anteneh moved to the Untied States, as a winner of the Green Card lottery that he believed was a sign of God's call to the wider church.

As a seminarian he served at Salem Lutheran Church in Catonsville, MD, as Pastoral intern at Advent Lutheran Church in Olathe, KS and while waiting for his first call he served as post graduate Vicar at Christ Lutheran Church in LaVale, MD.

Pastor Anteneh was called to Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church as Associate Pastor on Reformation Sunday October 30, 2011 and began his call on January 1, 2012.

Pastor Anteneh is married to Sophia Y. Fekade. Together they have three children.
